Our Story

Talk With Your Doc is a collaborative patient education initiative by family physicians and medical students from across Canada, in association with the Federation of Medical Women of Canada (FMWC). This project is dedicated to presenting you with accurate, credible information to help you make an informed choice about your contraceptive options, specifically when considering a Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC). The information we are sharing is based on the most recent guidelines and recommendations on the risks and benefits of LARCs that physicians use when counseling their patients.

This presentation was made possible by an educational grant from Bayer Healthcare to the FMWC. This means that while they have supported our project, they have not had any control over its content. The FMWC is a national organization supporting networking among women physicians from across the country. The FMWC is committed to fostering interest in women’s health issues and encourages ongoing education on these topics.

The goal of this project is to help provide you with the information you need to talk with your doctor when you are considering a LARC as your option for contraception. We hope the Webcast is useful to you!
